Tooth Extractions

Comfort and Care: Our Tooth Extraction Experience

How It Works

At our periodontal practice, Dr. Molina’s top priority is to preserve your natural teeth whenever possible. However, in certain situations, it may be necessary to extract a tooth that is beyond repair or to prepare for a dental implant.

What to Expect

Your comfort comes first. Every step of our doctor’s procedure ensures that during the extraction there will be little to no discomfort during the procedure.

During the tooth extraction procedure, your comfort and well-being are of the utmost importance to us. Our team will use a local anesthesia to numb the area around the tooth to be extracted, ensuring that you feel little to no discomfort during the procedure. Our skilled periodontist will then gently and carefully remove the tooth from the socket, taking great care to minimize damage to the surrounding gum and bone tissue. This promotes faster healing, reduces swelling and prevents future bone loss.

To ensure your comfort during the procedure, we will provide you with blankets and pillows to help you relax. If you require further assistance to help you relax, we offer oral sedation and nitrous oxide. Our doctor will determine the best option for you based on your needs.

In addition to relieving pain caused by infection, tooth extraction can also benefit your overall oral health. By removing a damaged or infected tooth, it limits the bacteria that can harm the rest of your teeth and gums, which can help to protect the rest of your mouth from infection and prevent the spread of bacteria. Extracting a tooth that is causing pain and infection may also help to prevent bone loss and maintain the integrity of the surrounding teeth and gums.
